Tomyris was a very strong and brave queen a long time ago. She lived in a place called the Scythian lands, which is now modern-day Central Asia. Tomyris was a great leader and had a big army.
One day, another ruler named Cyrus and his army came to the Scythian lands. Cyrus wanted to take over Tomyris' land and make it part of his own kingdom. Tomyris was not happy about this and she decided to fight back.
Cyrus and Tomyris' armies fought a big battle, but no one won. Cyrus then tried to trick Tomyris by sending her a message saying that he wanted to marry her. He thought that if he married Tomyris, he could take her land without any more fighting. But Tomyris was really smart and knew that Cyrus was not sincere.
Tomyris wanted to teach Cyrus a lesson so she came up with a plan. She sent a message to Cyrus saying that she would marry him, but he had to come to her land and give up his army and weapons first. Cyrus thought this was a great idea and he fell for the trap.
When Cyrus and his army came to Tomyris' land, he gave up his weapons and they all got drunk because they thought they were going to marry Tomyris. But Tomyris was really angry and she ordered her army to attack Cyrus and his army while they were drunk.
Cyrus and his army were not ready for this attack and they lost the battle. Cyrus himself was killed in the battle and Tomyris showed everyone that she was a very powerful queen who could not be defeated.
