Tortious interference

Alright kiddo, let's talk about tortious interference!

Let's imagine that you have a toy that you really love playing with. Your neighbor, Tom, wants that toy too, but you don't want to share it with him.

Now, Tom gets really upset that you won't share and he decides to do something mean. He goes to your other friends and tells them not to play with you because you're mean and won't share your toy.

This is called tortious interference. Tom is intentionally interfering with your relationships and trying to hurt you.

Now, let's imagine another scenario. Tom owns a toy store and you sell your toys there. One day, Tom begins to tell your customers that your toys are bad quality and they shouldn't buy them.

This is also tortious interference, but it's a little bit different. Tom is intentionally harming your business by saying bad things about your products.

In both scenarios, Tom is intentionally interfering with your life and causing harm. This is not allowed and is considered a tort, which is a fancy word for a legal wrong.

So, if someone intentionally interferes with your relationships or business, they could be sued for tortious interference. It's not a nice thing to do and can have serious consequences.
