Trace form

Okay kiddo, imagine you're drawing a picture of something. You start with a pencil and draw an outline of the thing you want to draw, like a dog or a flower. That's kind of what the trace form is like.

Trace form is a way of making a copy of something in the shape of an outline. But instead of using a pencil, we use a special paper called carbon paper. The carbon paper is really thin and has ink on one side.

Here's how it works: you put the carbon paper down on top of the original thing you want to make a copy of. Then you put a blank piece of paper on top of the carbon paper. You use a pen or pencil to trace the outline of the original thing onto the blank paper.

When you're done tracing, you'll see that the outline of the original thing has transferred from the carbon paper onto the blank paper. Just like magic! This is the trace form.

Sometimes people use trace form to make copies of important documents or drawings. It's also used by artists who want to make several versions of their art without having to redraw it every time.
