Trade name

A trade name is like a nickname for a company. Just like you have a name that people call you by, a company can have a name that people use to refer to it. But sometimes, companies want to use a different name than the one they were legally given when they were created. This is where trade names come in. For example, "McDonald's" is a trade name for the company "McDonald's Corporation." When people talk about "McDonald's," they're really talking about the company, but it's just easier to use the trade name instead of the legal name. So, a trade name is a name that a company chooses to use instead of their official name, to make it easier for people to remember and refer to them.
