Traditional Ecological Knowledge

Traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) is the knowledge that generations of people have gathered over time about the environment and how to use it. It has been passed down from generation to generation, from grandparents to children. This knowledge includes how to use plants in our environment for food, medicines, Building materials and clothing, how to live peacefully with wildlife, how to use land for agriculture, and how to adapt to changes in our environment. TEK can help us make better decisions about how to sustain our environment and protect our health.
