ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Traditional society

Okay, so imagine that you and your family live in a small village where everyone knows each other. In this village, everyone has a specific role or job that they do all day, every day. For example, some people might be farmers and grow crops, while others might be blacksmiths and make things out of metal.

In this type of society, people usually follow the same traditions and customs that their parents and grandparents did before them. They might have certain beliefs about religion or the way things should be done, and they stick to those beliefs.

People in traditional societies also usually have very close ties to their family and community. They rely on each other for help and support, and they often marry and have children within their own community.

Overall, traditional societies can be very tightly knit and focused on maintaining their way of life, even if it means not accepting some of the newer ideas and technologies that are available in the wider world.
