ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Training pants

Okay, so you know how when babies are born, they wear diapers to catch their pee and poop? And you know how when they grow up a little bit, they learn how to use the potty like a big kid? Well, sometimes it takes a little bit of practice to learn how to use the potty properly. That's where training pants come in.

Training pants are like a special kind of underwear that can help kids learn how to use the potty. They are made to look and feel like regular underwear, but they have extra layers of fabric and sometimes even a waterproof lining inside.

When a kid feels like they need to go pee or poop, they can use the potty like usual, but if they don't quite make it in time, the training pants can help catch any accidents so they don't make a mess. That way, they can keep practicing and learning how to use the potty without worrying about making a big mess.

Eventually, as kids get better and better at using the potty, they won't need the extra protection of the training pants anymore. They can switch back to regular underwear just like a big kid! And that's all there is to it!
