Trajan's Market

Trajan's Market is basically a big building that was made a long, long time ago when people called Romans were in charge of Italy. It was built in Rome around the year 100 AD, which means it's over 1,900 years old - that's older than anyone you've ever met!

The market was named after the emperor Trajan, who was the ruler of the Roman Empire at the time. It was a really important place where people could buy and sell things. Just like how you go to the store to get food or toys, people back then would go to Trajan's Market to get things they needed for their homes or to trade with other people.

At Trajan's Market, there were lots of different shops, kind of like a mall you might go to with your family. But instead of having stores like Target or Abercrombie & Fitch, there were shops where people could buy things like clothes, food, and even weapons!

But Trajan's Market wasn't just for shopping. There were also offices and apartments where people could work and live. There were stairs and walkways that connected all the different levels of the building. It was a really busy and important place.

Today, Trajan's Market is still standing and you can visit it in Rome. Even though it's so old, people still think it's really cool and important because it shows how people lived a long time ago. And it helps teach us about history and how things were different back then.
