ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Transcription software

Transcription software is like a robot helper that helps people write down what someone is saying. Imagine you're in a classroom and your teacher tells you to copy everything they say down on paper. That might be hard because they're talking really fast! Transcription software is like a super smart robot that can listen to what the teacher is saying and write it all down really fast.

When people use transcription software, they usually record the person they want to listen to with a microphone or camera, and then the software listens to the recording and writes down everything that's being said. The software is also really good at understanding different accents and voices, so it doesn't get confused when different people are speaking.

After the software is done listening and writing, people can go in and correct any mistakes it may have made - kind of like checking over your homework before turning it in. This makes writing down what someone said much faster than doing it all by hand!
