ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Transgender sexuality

Okay, so when someone is born, the doctors and parents look at their private parts and decide if they are a boy or a girl. But sometimes, people feel like they are really not the gender they were told they are. They might feel like they are a boy even though they were born with a girl's body, or they might feel like they are a girl even though they were born with a boy's body.

This is called being transgender.

Now, when it comes to sexuality, that means who you are attracted to and who you want to be in a romantic relationship with. So, just like with everyone else, transgender people can be straight (meaning they like people of a different gender), gay (meaning they like people of the same gender), bisexual (meaning they like people of both genders), or any other type of sexual attraction.

It's important to remember that being transgender is not the same thing as being gay, and people of any gender can be attracted to people of any gender. The most important thing is to be true to yourself and love who you want to love.
