Transmission (medicine)

Transmission in medicine means how a disease or infection spreads from one person or place to another. It's like when you pass a toy or a piece of candy to your friend so they can have it too. But instead of a toy or candy, it's germs or viruses that can make people sick.

Germs or viruses are tiny things that we can't see with our eyes, but they can get inside our bodies and make us sick. They can be in someone's saliva when they cough, sneeze, or talk. They can also be on surfaces like toys, doorknobs, or countertops.

When we touch things that have germs on them or are close to someone who is sick, we can catch these germs too. That's why we need to wash our hands and keep our distance from people who are sick.

Some diseases can also spread through the air. This means that if someone is sick and coughs or sneezes, the germs can be in the air and other people can breathe them in.

Doctors and scientists study how diseases are transmitted so they can help people stay healthy and prevent the spread of infections. They might recommend things like wearing masks, washing hands, or staying home when we're sick to protect ourselves and others.
