ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Transportation of animals

Alright kiddo, sometimes animals need to go from one place to another. Maybe they're going to a new home or a new zoo. Moving animals around safely and comfortably is called transportation.

First, we make sure the animals are healthy and have enough space to move around. We also make sure they have enough food and water for the trip.

If it's a short trip, we might use a truck or a trailer. If it's a longer trip, we might use a plane or a boat.

On a truck or trailer, we put the animals in a big cage or crate. This helps keep them safe and in one place during the trip. We also make sure the temperature is just right so they don't get too hot or too cold.

When we transport animals by plane, they'll usually travel in special cargo areas. The animals are put in large crates and the plane is pressurized to make sure they get enough oxygen.

When we transport animals by boat, they'll usually travel in special areas on the ship. They might need a lot of food and water during the trip since it can take a while.

Overall, we try to make sure the animals are as comfortable as possible during transportation, so they arrive at their destination healthy and happy.
