Transuranium

Okay kiddo, so you know what atoms are right? They are tiny particles that make up everything around us like toys, food, and even people!

Well, not all atoms are the same. Some are bigger than others. The bigger they are, the more energy they have inside of them.

Transuranium is a fancy word that means "beyond uranium". Uranium is a very big and heavy atom that was discovered a long time ago. Scientists later found even bigger atoms which were created in a lab using special machines. These atoms are called transuranium elements.

They are called transuranium elements because they have more protons (tiny particles inside atoms) than uranium does. This makes them much more powerful and unstable, like a toy tower that is too tall and wobbly.

Scientists have to be very careful when dealing with transuranium elements because they can be dangerous if they are not handled properly.

So, in summary, transuranium means "beyond uranium" and refers to very big and powerful atoms that are created in a lab. They are special because they have more protons than uranium and need to be handled with great care.
