Trauma und Berufskrankheit

Alright, so sometimes things happen to our bodies or minds that can hurt us or make it hard to do certain things. This is called trauma. For example, if someone falls and hurts their leg, that's a physical trauma. Or if someone sees something really scary and it makes them feel afraid and anxious, that's a mental trauma.

Now, some people have jobs where they are more likely to experience trauma than others. For example, soldiers or firefighters may see things that are really scary or dangerous. Sometimes, being exposed to so much trauma over time can make someone sick. This is called a "occupational disease" or "berufskrankheit" in German.

If someone gets sick from their job because of trauma, they may be able to get help paying for their medical care or time off work. But it can be hard to prove that the sickness was caused by their job, so they may need help from someone who knows a lot about these things, like a doctor or a lawyer.

So in summary, trauma is when something happens to our bodies or minds that hurts us, and if our job causes us to be exposed to a lot of trauma in a way that makes us sick, that's called an occupational disease or berufskrankheit.
