ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Trust, but verify

Trust, but verify means that you should trust someone but make sure to double-check their work. This means taking the time to make sure that the work that someone else has done meets the standards that you expect. For example, if someone completes a task for you, make sure that it's done properly by checking it yourself. This way you can make sure that you trust that they did the job right, instead of taking their word for it.
