ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Tuffite

Tuffite is a type of rock that is formed from volcanic materials, such as ash and lava. When a volcano erupts, it can send out a lot of ash and other tiny bits of rock that get mixed together and settle on the ground. Over time, the ash and bits of rock can become compressed and cemented together to form tuffite.

Think of it like making a sandcastle at the beach. You take a bunch of sand and pour water over it to make it stick together. Then you pack it down really tight and it becomes a hard sandcastle. The same thing happens with tuffite, except instead of sand and water, it's ash and other tiny bits of volcanic debris that get stuck together and harden over time.

Tuffite can come in different colors depending on the type of volcanic materials that were used to make it. It can also be used for building and construction because it is a very strong and durable type of rock. So, just like how you can build a sandcastle with sand, people can build things out of tuffite because it's strong and hard.
