Tursaansydän

Tursaansydän is a Finnish word that means "octopus heart". This is not a real heart from an octopus, but instead it is a special kind of pastry that is made to look like an octopus.

To make a tursaansydän, bakers use a dough made from flour, sugar, egg and butter. They shape the dough into many long strips and then twist them all together to create a big round shape.

Then, the bakers stick two raisins or currants on top of the pastry to make the eyes, and cut little lines in the dough to create the octopus's tentacles.

After baking the pastry in the oven, the result is a delicious, sweet treat that looks like an octopus with a heart-shaped body.

People in Finland enjoy eating tursaansydän during the Christmas season and other special occasions. It's a fun and tasty way to celebrate with family and friends!
