U.S. Commission on Civil Rights

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is a group of people who want to make sure everybody is treated fairly and with respect, no matter what they look like or where they come from. They check on things like how people are being treated at school, work, or voting. They also investigate when people say they're not being treated fairly because of their skin color, religion, gender, or other reasons. They talk to lots of different people and groups to find out what's going on, and then they make recommendations to the government on how to make things better for everyone. Basically, they make sure that everyone in America has the same chances in life, no matter who they are.
