Uchaguzi
Uchaguzi is when we get to choose who we want to be in charge of our country or a group of people. Just like when we play with toys and we get to choose which toy we want to play with next, uchaguzi is when we get to choose who we want to be the leader of our country or a group of people.
But uchaguzi is not just about picking anybody, there are rules to follow. It's like when we play games, we have to follow the rules to make sure everyone is playing fairly. In uchaguzi, we have to make sure everyone who is allowed to vote gets a chance to say who they want to be the leader.
So, we have special places called polling stations where everyone goes to cast their vote. Just like when we go to the playground and there are different toys in different places, there are different places for people to go and vote.
When we go to vote, we are given a special paper called a ballot paper. It's like a sheet of paper with names of people who want to be the leader. It's like when we are choosing which toy to play with next, we look at all the toys and pick the one we like the most. With the ballot paper, we look at all the names of the people who want to be the leader and we pick the one we like the most.
Once we have picked the person we want to be the leader, we put the ballot paper in a special box. It's like when we put our toys back after we are done playing with them. We put the ballot paper in the box, and then everyone counts all the ballot papers to see who has the most votes.
