Ukraine–NATO relations

You know when parents have a special agreement to be friends and look out for each other? Well, Ukraine and NATO are like that. NATO is a group of countries that have a special agreement to look out for each other and help each other if they need help. Ukraine is a country that is not a part of NATO yet, but they are hoping to become a part of NATO one day. To make sure they get accepted, they have been working on building a strong relationship with NATO by being extra nice to each other and helping each other out. For example, Ukraine has been helping with NATO's military operations, like in Afghanistan, and NATO has been helping Ukraine with military training.
