ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Under-20 athletics

Under-20 athletics is a competition for young people who are under the age of 20. This is a place where young boys and girls can come together and participate in running, jumping, and throwing competitions.

Just like when you play a game with your friends, there are rules that everyone has to follow. In under-20 athletics, there are rules about how long the race should be, how many times you can jump, and how far you need to throw something.

The athletes compete against each other to see who is the fastest, who can jump the highest, or who can throw the farthest. Each athlete has their own lane or area where they can run, jump, or throw without interfering with the other athletes.

But, under-20 athletics isn't just about winning. It's also about trying your best and improving. Every athlete has their own personal goals that they want to achieve, whether it's beating their own time or setting a new personal record.

And, while these young athletes might not be as fast or as strong as the older athletes you see on TV, they are just as important. They are the future of athletics and who knows, one day they might be the ones winning gold medals at the Olympics!
