ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Under-18 athletics

Under-18 athletics is a way for kids who are younger than 18 years old to participate in sports competitions. You know how you love playing soccer, swimming or running around with your friends? Well, under-18 athletics is like that, but it’s more organized and there are coaches who help you get better and compete against other kids who also love the same sport as you do.

Now, when you sign up for under-18 athletics, you have to make sure that you have permission from your parents or guardians. They will also need to fill out some paperwork so that you can be part of the team and attend competitions. This is really important because we want to make sure that you are safe, healthy, and that your parents are aware of what you are doing.

Once you are part of the team, you will get to practice regularly with your coach and other teammates who also love the same sport as you do. You will learn how to do the sport properly, how to become stronger and faster, and how to work well with others on the team.

Now, when it comes time for competitions, you will be competing against other kids who also love the same sport as you do. The competition is friendly and fun, and the goal is to do your best and have a good time. There might be medals, trophies, or ribbons to win, but the most important thing is that you did your best, had fun, and made new friends.

In summary, under-18 athletics is a really fun and exciting way for kids younger than 18 years old to participate in organized sports competitions. You get to improve your skills, make new friends, and have a great time playing the sport you love!
