ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Undergraduate research journal

An undergraduate research journal is like a special book where very smart and curious students write down all of their exciting ideas and discoveries about different subjects. These students, who are still in college, get the chance to do research just like grown-up scientists, and then write about what they found in this journal.

Some of the subjects they might write about could be things like how to make new medicines, or how to design better buildings, or how to understand the way people think and feel. They might even get to work with real scientists or other experts in the field to learn more about these subjects.

The purpose of this journal is to share all of these cool and interesting ideas with other people who are also interested in these subjects. So, if you're really into biology, for example, you could read about what a student discovered about how to cure a disease in the undergraduate research journal. It's like you get to peek into these college students' brains and see all of the amazing things they're learning!
