Undocumented youth in the United States are young people under the age of 18 who have come to the US from other countries without permission from the US government. These youth may have come to the US with their families or alone. A lot of them were born in another country, but have been living in the United States for many years, sometimes even as long as they can remember. Because they came to the US without permission, they are not allowed to get jobs, go to college, or access public benefits. This makes it very hard for them to get ahead in life.
