Unexploded ordnance

Unexploded ordnance (UXO) is the name we give to bombs or weapons that didn't go off when they were supposed to. They can be left behind after wars or explosions, and can be very dangerous if people come across them.

These bombs and weapons can look like regular objects such as rocks or toys, but they are not safe to touch. They can still explode and hurt people or damage buildings.

That's why experts specially trained to find and remove UXO go out and search for them. They use special tools like metal detectors to find the bombs safely. Once they find them, they carefully remove them so that they don't explode.

It's very important to be careful if you see any strange objects or bombs, and to always report it to an adult who can get help from trained experts. It's never safe to touch or tamper with something that could be a UXO because it can put you and others in danger.
