ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Uniform 4-polytope

A uniform 4-polytope is a magical shape that lives in a world with four dimensions instead of just three like the one we live in. It's like a 3D shape, but with an extra dimension added on. You can't see it in our world, but it's still there.

Imagine you have a cube. A cube is a 3D shape with six faces, eight corners, and 12 edges. Now imagine taking that cube and stretching it out into the fourth dimension. It becomes a uniform 4-polytope. It still has six faces, eight corners, and 12 edges, but now they're arranged in a different way that you can't quite imagine.

There are lots of different types of uniform 4-polytopes, just like there are different types of 3D shapes. Some of them have more faces, some of them have more corners, and some of them have more edges. But they all have one thing in common: they live in a world with four dimensions, and they're too complicated for us to see in our world.

So even though we can't see a uniform 4-polytope, it's still pretty cool to think about what it might look like in its own special world.
