The United Nations Decade of Family Farming is like a special time when everyone in the world tries to think about and take good care of families who grow their own food on their farms. We call these families "family farmers".
Family farmers help to make sure that everyone in the world has enough food to eat. They grow things like fruits, vegetables, and grains that we use to make our meals. During this special time called the Decade of Family Farming, we want to make sure that family farmers get the things they need to keep doing a good job at growing food.
Sometimes family farmers face challenges that can make it hard for them to grow the food that we need. Things like climate change, drought or flooding can make it difficult for crops to grow. Also, sometimes family farmers aren't paid enough for their hard work, or they don't have access to the right training or tools to help them grow their crops well.
So during the United Nations Decade of Family Farming, people from all around the world work together to help make sure that family farmers get what they need to keep growing food for us. We help them by giving them resources and training so that they can grow better crops, we support them by buying their produce, and we help them by making sure they get the right price for their hard work.
By helping family farmers, we can make sure that everyone has enough healthy and nutritious food to eat, and we can help to make our world a better place to live in.
