United States groundwater law

Groundwater is water that comes from a source underground and is used for drinking and for watering plants. In the United States, groundwater law is a set of laws that work together to say who has the right to use the groundwater, how much groundwater can be taken out of the ground, and how the water should be used. This helps to protect the groundwater from becoming contaminated and from being used up too quickly. When a person needs to use groundwater, they have to get permission from the United States government and follow the laws that are in place.
