ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

University Revolution

Imagine you are playing with building blocks. You start with just a few basic pieces, but as you learn more and get better at building, you add more pieces and create more elaborate structures. This is kind of like the University Revolution.

A long time ago, universities were only for very rich and important people. They were mostly meant for men and focused on things like religion, law, and medicine. But over time, more and more people wanted to go to university to learn new things and get better jobs.

As more people went to university, they also started to study different subjects, like science, literature, and art. This meant that universities needed more teachers and more buildings to keep up with all the new students.

But it wasn't just about learning new things - people also wanted universities to be more fair and inclusive. Women and people of different races started going to university too, and universities had to change their rules to welcome everyone.

Today, universities are still changing and adapting to new ideas and technologies. They offer all kinds of different classes and programs to help students learn and grow. And with online courses and distance learning, more people than ever before can become part of the University Revolution!
