ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Urban guerrilla warfare

Okay, so imagine you're playing a game of capture the flag with your friends. But instead of playing in a backyard or park, you're playing in a big city with lots of buildings and streets. The goal is still to capture the flag, but it's much harder because there are so many places to hide and ambush each other.

Now, imagine that instead of playing a game, some people are using these tactics as a way to fight against a government they don't like. They might hide in buildings, use alleys to sneak around, and set booby traps to protect themselves.

This type of fighting is called urban guerrilla warfare. It's like playing a big game of capture the flag, but instead of using water guns or Nerf guns, they're using real guns and bombs. It's dangerous because innocent people who just want to go about their daily lives can get hurt.

Governments also try to fight back against this type of fighting, but it can be difficult because the urban guerrillas can blend in with the regular people and strike when the government least expects it. It's a serious and scary situation.
