ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

User account policy

Okay kiddo, do you remember how sometimes you have to use a password to get into your tablet or computer? That's because there are rules or policies set up by your parents or grown-ups to protect your device and the things you do on it.

Well, the same thing happens when people use computers at work or in big organizations. They have something called a user account policy, which is basically a set of rules that everyone has to follow to keep their work computers and information safe.

Some of these rules might be:

1. You can't use your pet's name as your password.
2. You have to change your password every few months to keep it safe.
3. You can only log in on certain computers or devices.
4. You can't share your password with anyone else.

These policies make sure that only the right people can get into important files and programs, and that bad guys can't sneak in and steal things. So just like how your parents want you to be safe on your tablet, grown-ups have to follow these rules to be safe on their work computers.
