So, you know how when it gets really cold outside, your head can get really cold too? Well, in some places where it gets super duper cold, people wear hats called ushankas to keep their heads warm.
An ushanka is a hat that covers your whole head and has these big, fluffy ear flaps that you can pull down over your ears to keep them warm too. The ear flaps have little strings on them that you can tie together on top of your head if you don't need them.
People have been wearing ushankas for a long time in really cold places like Russia and Siberia. They used to be made out of fur from animals like rabbits, foxes, or even seals. But nowadays, people make them out of all different materials like wool, synthetic fur, and even crochet.
So if you ever go to a really cold place, like the North Pole, you might want to wear an ushanka to keep your head and ears warm!
