ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Utility station

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a big house with a lot of things that need power to work, like your TV, your computer, and your fridge. Now, these things don't just magically work, they need electricity to make them turn on and do what they're supposed to do.

So, just like your house, cities and towns have a bunch of things like buildings, streetlights, and traffic lights that need electricity to work. Utility stations are the places where the electricity comes from that powers everything in a city.

It's kind of like a giant power source that provides energy to things in the area. You can think of it like a factory that creates electricity that gets sent out to all the different places that need it.

These stations usually have big machines inside that generate the electricity, like turbines or generators. They also have transformers, which can convert the electricity to different voltages so it can be used in different ways.

So, without a utility station, things in a city or town wouldn't have any electricity to work, and we wouldn't be able to power all the cool things we rely on to make our lives easier!
