Utilization management

Utilization management is like when mommy or daddy checks the food in the fridge to make sure we use it before it goes bad. In a hospital, doctors and nurses use a lot of medicine, tests, and treatments on patients to make them healthy. But just like how we can't waste food, hospitals can't use too much medicine, tests, or treatments because it can cost a lot of money and might not be good for the patient's health. So, utilization management is when hospital staff check to make sure the medicine, tests, and treatments being used are the best ones for the patient and not too many are being used. It's like when mommy or daddy takes out just the right amount of food for us so we don't waste any or eat too much.
