VTOL

VTOL stands for Vertical Takeoff and Landing. It means that a vehicle can go up or down directly, without needing a runway. This is different from other vehicles like airplanes that need a long runway to take off and land.

A VTOL vehicle can be like a helicopter, which can hover in one place, or a jetpack, which can fly straight up and down. Some vehicles can switch between regular flying and VTOL mode, like a Harrier Jump Jet.

VTOL vehicles are very useful in places where there isn't a lot of space, like in cities or on ships. They can also be used in rescue missions or for military purposes. However, VTOL vehicles can be noisy and expensive to maintain, so they are not as common as regular airplanes or helicopters.
