Vehicle extrication

Vehicle extrication is when people trained in rescue work to help trapped people out of a car or other vehicle after an accident. It's like when you get stuck in your shirt or coat and need someone to help you get out of it. Sometimes, a car can get really smashed up and people can get stuck inside.

Rescue workers use special tools like axes, saws, and hydraulic cutters to carefully cut away the parts of the car that are trapping the person. They're very careful when they use these tools so they don't hurt the person inside even more.

They also use things like airbags and wedges to help lift or push the car apart a little bit so the person can move.

It's a very important job because it helps get people out of danger and to the hospital if they need it.
