When military vehicles get stuck or broken, we need to get them back to safety so they can be fixed. To do this, we use big machines called recovery vehicles. These machines are like giant tow trucks. They have strong arms and cables that can pull and lift heavy vehicles out of ditches, mud, and even rivers.
The first thing the recovery team does is to make sure the area is safe. Then, they hook the cable to the stuck or broken vehicle and start to pull it out. Sometimes, they use a winch to pull the vehicle closer to the recovery vehicle. Once the vehicle is close enough, the recovery vehicle uses its big arms to lift and move the vehicle onto a trailer or flatbed where it can be carried to safety.
Sometimes, the vehicles are too damaged to be moved. In that case, the recovery team will break them down into pieces and carry them back to a safe location to be rebuilt. Using recovery vehicles helps us get the most out of our military vehicles and ensure they can be fixed and used again in the future.
