Vexillum

Okay, kiddo, do you know what a flag is? It's a piece of cloth with colors and designs that represents a country, state or group. Now, imagine a very special kind of flag, called vexillum.

A vexillum was a flag used by the ancient Romans. It was made of cloth and had a very specific shape - it was a rectangle with a triangle at the end. This triangle was cut into two equal parts that curled away from each other.

The Vexillum was used as a military flag to rally troops during battles. Soldiers could easily spot the unique shape and bright colors of their vexillum, even from far away. It was like a symbol that represented their squad or group. It helped the Romans stay organized and unite to fight together.

So, in short, vexillum is a special kind of flag that the ancient Romans used in wars to help their soldiers know where to go and to stick together as a team.
