ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Visual artifact

Hey there little one! So, you know when you draw pictures and sometimes the colors don't look exactly how you want them to on the paper? That's a little bit like a visual artifact.

A visual artifact is when there is something in a picture or video that doesn't look like it's supposed to be there. It can be caused by a lot of different things, like bad lighting or a problem with the camera.

It's sort of like when you take a picture with your toy camera and the colors come out all weird because the camera isn't very good. That's a type of visual artifact.

Sometimes, visual artifacts can make it harder to see what's in the picture or video. But if we can understand what causes them, we can try to fix them or work around them so we can still see the important stuff.

Does that make sense to you, little one?
