ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Visual flight rules

Visual Flight Rules are rules that pilots use when flying in good weather. This means there is no cloud cover, good visibility, and no storms. When following Visual Flight Rules, the pilot must look out the windows to see where they are going and use their instruments to make sure they are flying at the right altitude and following the right path. This is why pilots must always be aware of their surroundings.
