Voluntary redundancy

Voluntary redundancy is when you choose to leave your job, even though your job isn't in danger of ending. It might be because you want to retire, or because you want to look for another job, or even because you want a change of scenery. It's called 'voluntary' because you choose to leave; it's not the same as when your job ends because the company is downsizing or closing down.
