Wagon wheel (transportation)

Okay kiddo, you know those big round things that cars have where they put the tires on? Well, a long time ago when cars didn't exist, people still needed a way to move things from one place to another. So they used wagons, which are like big boxes with wheels that can carry a lot of stuff. And those wheels, they looked like big wooden circles, just like the round things on cars but much bigger!

The wagon wheels were really important because they helped the wagons move over all kinds of terrain, like dirt roads or rocky paths. The circular shape of the wagon wheel helped it roll more easily, since the wheel didn't get stuck in any one place. And the wooden spokes that stuck out from the center of the wheel helped keep it strong, so it wouldn't break even when the wagon was carrying heavy things.

Wagon wheels were also different from car wheels because they didn't have any motors to help them move. Instead, horses or oxen were hooked up to the wagon and would pull it along. The wagon wheels would turn as the horses or oxen pulled the wagon forward.

So that's what a wagon wheel is, kiddo. A big round wooden circle that helped people move stuff from one place to another a long time ago!
