War in Afghanistan
So a long time ago, some bad people called the Taliban took over a country called Afghanistan. They made rules that were not fair and hurt a lot of people, especially women and girls.
Some other countries, including the United States, did not like the bad things the Taliban were doing. So, they decided to send their soldiers to Afghanistan to try to stop the bad people and make things better for the people who lived there.
But, it was really hard because the Taliban did not want to give up their power. So, there was a lot of fighting in Afghanistan with soldiers trying to defeat the Taliban and protect the people.
The war went on for a really long time, over 20 years. Many people were hurt or killed in the fighting, and it was really sad for everyone involved. But, finally, the United States decided to bring their soldiers back home and let the people of Afghanistan try to figure things out on their own.
Today, the situation in Afghanistan is still complicated, but many people are working towards peace and helping the country rebuild.
