Wasted vote

A wasted vote is when you vote for somebody or something, but it doesn't make a difference to the outcome of the election or decision. This can happen because a lot of other people have voted the same way, or because the person or thing you voted for didn't win. It's like throwing away your vote because it doesn't count.
