Water privatization

Okay little friend, so you know how water is everywhere around us like in rivers, lakes, and even rain that falls from the sky? Well, some grown-ups think it would be better if companies or rich people owned the water instead of it being shared by everyone. This is called water privatization.

When someone owns water, they can decide to charge money for it which means people might have to pay to drink or use water. This can be bad for some people who cannot afford it. Imagine if you had to pay for each glass of water, it would be really tricky for your family to afford it.

Also, when companies take over water sources, they might not take good care of it like they should. They could pollute the water or use too much of it which could harm the environment and the living things around it. You know how you learned about the water cycle in school? If someone owns water, they might not let it go back into the environment the way it is supposed to.

So, water privatization is not always a good idea because it could be too expensive for some people and it could harm the environment. That's why some people think we should keep water shared by everyone so that it's fair and safe for everyone to use.
