ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Resource consumption

Imagine you have a plate of cookies. You want to eat all of them, but you have to share with other people. You can't just eat them all by yourself because you might get sick or not have enough cookies later. This is like resource consumption.

Resources are things like water, energy, oil, and trees which we use to make things like clothes, food, cars, and buildings. Just like with the cookies, we can't use all of these resources at once because we might run out or damage the environment.

So, when we use resources, we have to be careful and only use what we need. We also have to find ways to use resources that are sustainable, which means we can keep using them without damaging the environment or running out too quickly.

By being mindful of our resource consumption, we can make sure there are enough resources for everyone in the future, and the world stays healthy and beautiful.
