ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Water skiing

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen someone skiing on snow? Water skiing is like that, but on water!

Instead of skis, you wear special skis designed for gliding over water, and instead of being pulled by gravity, you're pulled by a boat!

The boat has a long rope attached to it, and you hold onto the rope with both hands. When the boat driver accelerates, you'll start to move on top of the water, and you'll feel a little tug on your arms.

Now, the trick to staying up on the skis is to keep your knees and arms bent, and your weight centered over the skis. It might feel a bit wobbly at first, but you'll get used to it.

As you get more confident, you can try doing jumps and turns on the skis! But always remember to wear a life jacket and have an adult supervising you.

So that's water skiing in a nutshell, have fun on the water!
