ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Waviness

Waviness is a fancy word that describes when something is not completely straight or flat. You can see waviness in things like water or when you draw squiggly lines. Even some roads and sidewalks have a little bit of waviness to them.

Think about it like this: When you draw a line on paper, it can be perfectly straight or it can be a little bit wavy. Straight lines are like a pencil held still, but when your hand shakes or moves, the line becomes wavy.

Waviness happens in lots of things. For example, think about a puddle of water on the ground. If you look carefully, you'll see little waves in the puddle. These waves happen when a drop of water hits the surface of the puddle and makes it move around in a little circle.

So when something is wavy, it might not be perfectly straight or flat, but that's okay because it's a natural thing that happens all the time!
