ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

White House Press Secretary

Imagine you are in a big school and there is a student who is really good at talking, knows a lot of information and is always the one who answers the questions of the teacher in class. The White House also has someone like that, called the White House Press Secretary. This person is like the spokesperson for the president and helps him in many ways.

The White House Press Secretary's job is to talk with people from the media, which are the people who write and talk about news. These media people want to know what the President is doing, what he thinks, and what decisions he is making. So, the Press Secretary talks to them on behalf of the President, and tells them about anything important that is happening. They might talk about important decisions that the President is making, or updates on what the President is doing, like where he's traveling to, or what events he is attending.

The Press Secretary also helps the President communicate his message to people all over the U.S. and even around the world. They work with the President's team to help write speeches, statements and press releases about what the President is doing. This way, people can know what the President is working on, and what goals he has for the country.

To sum it up, the White House Press Secretary is like a really good student in school, who talks to people from the media and helps the President communicate his messages to the public. They tell people what the President is doing, what decisions he is making, and what his plans are.
