Wind run

Wind run is a fancy way to measure how far the wind travels in a certain amount of time. It's like a race between the wind and a clock!

Here's how it works: imagine you're standing outside on a windy day, holding a big flag. The wind blows and makes your flag flutter around. You look at your clock and start counting how many times your flag waves back and forth in one minute. Let's say it waves back and forth 10 times.

Now we can use that number to figure out the wind run. We know that the flag is moving in both directions with each wave, so we can double the number of waves to find out how many times the wind passed over the flag in one minute - in this case, it's 20 times.

So if we know the wind speed is, say, 10 miles per hour, we can multiply that speed by the number of times the wind passed over the flag to get the wind run - in this case, it would be 200 miles per hour!

Wind run helps us understand how strong and fast the wind is blowing over a certain period of time, and can be useful for things like weather forecasting and planning wind energy projects.
